Microsoft's AI diagnostic system outperformed physicians on case-based tests

Microsoft AI built a diagnostic system that was tested against human physicians on scenarios drawn from medical case reports and emergency department data. Results published in the journal Science claim the system diagnosed conditions up to four times more accurately. The evaluation used Microsoft's own benchmark, so the result reflects test conditions rather than live clinical deployment.
